It was the trailer that got me. For decades, I had seen the trailer for Ralph Bakshi’s so-called masterpiece, “American Pop”. It was one of those trailers that intrigued me but never quite convinced me to watch it, until last night. Finally, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to see what the fuss was about. After watching the movie, I’m not quite sure how to feel about it. My wife and I had a long conversation about it and its meaning. I guess this is a good thing, ultimately.
I’m not going to rehash the plot or provide a brief synopsis of this film. I assume you can all watch the trailer linked below and I don’t want to totally spoil it.
